UP launches district e-governance

LUCKNOW, INDIA: Uttar Pradesh recently launched the e-District project in its six districts and has become the first state in the country to launch e-governance project.

The district of Sitapur, Rae Barelli, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Sultanpur and Gorakhpur have deployed the Uttar Pradesh 'e-District' application software developed by National Informatics Center.

The e-District under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) of Ministry of Communications and Information Technology involves the back-end computerization of the government departments and the district administration.

The project is aimed to automate the entire processes of various departments and administration by assuring electronic work flow and process of various services offered by the administration.

The project will offer service such as digital signature for application approval, tracking status of application, door step delivery etc for the citizens.
