UP Government partners Lotus, Cyberspace

LUCKNOW, September 10: The UP government is also getting serious about

IT. A UP Government delegation in Mumbai assessed the information

technology initiatives taken by the Government of Maharashtra, who have

undertaken an aggressive drive for IT usage in the state. The government

of UP also announced a strategic partnership with Lotus Development

Corporation to source solutions specifically designed for Government use,

on Lotus Domino and Notes platform. These solutions will be implemented

through their joint venture partner, Cyberspace Infosys Ltd., who have

recently become partners for the Lotus Authorized National Support Center

as well.

The UP delegation also had held dialogues with the Maharashtra

Government and has also attended presentations by leading multinational IT

vendor corporations, organized by their joint venture partner, Infosys

Ltd. The main objectives of the IT policy of UP Government are to place

the state on the global map of IT as the new Silicon Valley of India and

to create a smart Government, which is using IT for speedy, transparent

and accountable conduct of Government systems and services.
