Utilizing the Click Portal software, UC San Diego will track and process thousands of agreements involving inbound and outbound research material transfers ranging from devices to DNA samples and biohazardous agents. The system will enable researchers, staff, and transfer analysts to track materials more easily and accurately as they pass from one laboratory or institution to another.

“MTA is a multi-step process that tends to be complex, and the Click Portal software will provide tracking efficiencies and easy access to the status of a transfer application throughout its lifecycle,” said Linda Collins, assistant vice chancellor, Contract and Grant Administration, UC San Diego. “Getting research materials where they need to be is essential to keeping the research in motion. The ultimate goal is to speed the delivery of research results while maintaining control over intellectual property and compliance.”

“The University of California, San Diego, is responding to the growing challenge of managing sensitive materials,” said Nick Stier, managing director, Huron Education.
