Universities to likely conduct PG and graduation exams in August, datesheet to be announced in July

Due to lockdown, schools and colleges are worst affected still.  Although they are conducting classes online, it is still difficult for students. They don't know when the universities will conduct PG and graduation exams and when the new sessions will begin. It is difficult to know if universities will conduct exams in personal or online mode. But according to a source, we have some news on what universities are discussing.

According to the source, UGC is planning to conduct exams in end-July or August. The date sheets or time-table will be out in end-June or the first week of July. Unis will declare results within the month. HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, in his webinar with students, clarified that all UGC exams will happen after 15th June. Also, Higher Education Minister Dr Narayan on Friday said, "Tentatively, we are planning to conduct examinations after May. Students and parents do not need to worry about it."

When will the exams happen?

The source, on condition of anonymity, also said that UGC is planning to some of the exams online, while they plan to reduce the paper duration for others. The exact dates will be directly available on respective websites of the universities. Some universities like Odisha University and Mumbai University have already released the dates for their graduation exams.

Odisha University will conduct graduation exams for final year students between June 20 and July 24. They will declare results of the final year undergraduate examinations on or before August 31. It will also conduct post-graduation exams for the final year before August 20 and declare results on or before September 20.

Mumbai University will conduct pending exams from July 1, as per University Grants Commission guidelines. Uday Samant, higher and technical education minister of Maharashtra, said that the Mumbai University exams will take place in July. They aim to begin the new academic year from September 1, 2020, for the new batch.
