MUMBAI, INDIA: Indian realty firm Unitech Ltd announced on Monday that its telecom subsidiaries had got wireless radio waves in four more service areas in the country.
In a statement given to the Bombay Stock Exchange, it said the Department of Telecommunications has issued the letters to company's telecom subsidiaries for allotment of 4.4 MHz of spectrum in 1800 MH GSM band in Assam, Rajasthan, North East and Jammu & Kashmir service areas, taking the total to 20 where it holds spectrum.
Indian telecom market comprises 22 service areas. According to the statement the details of the spectrum allocation is as follows:
Assam - all districts except Dibrugarh, Jorhat and Kamrup districts wherein 1.2 MHz of Spectrum has been allotted.
Rajasthan - all districts except Bikaner, Barmer, Bharatpur, Dausa, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jalore arid Sirohi districts.
North East - all districts except East-Khasi Hills district in Meghalaya and Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh district wherein 1.2 MHz of Spectrum has been allotted.
Jammu & Kashmir - all districts except Doda and Anantnag district wherein 1.2 MHz of Spectrum has been allotted.
