According to the agreement, Unisys would resell Fortinet's enterprise and high-end security systems – from the FortiGate-50 to the FortiGate-5000 series – to its customers and manage all outsourcing requirements for firewall, antivirus, IPS, Web content filtering and anti-spam functions. Unisys would also support the FortiGate products for its customers, including subscription services and 24-hour replacement services.

Fortinet's FortiGate multi-threat security systems would be used as both supported premise equipment and operational infrastructure in the Unisys Managed Security Services, which deliver outsourced firewall, antivirus, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), Web content filtering and antispam solutions to enterprise clients worldwide, Fortinet said in a statement.

"Our decision to begin offering an integrated system as part of our outsourced offering was driven by budgetary and functional requirements, as traditional firewall offerings were not sufficiently meeting our customers' demands for highly effective, multi-functional systems but at lower price points," said Paul Davis, vice president and program manager, enterprise security, Unisys.

"The addition of Fortinet solutions to Unisys' offering both validates the capabilities of our products and the demand for integrated security among global enterprises. We're confident that Unisys and its customers will benefit from the superior performance, scalability, ease of management and comprehensive security that of our FortiGate systems provide, and we're looking forward to a mutually beneficial partnership."
