Uninor in expansion mode

Uninor is looking forward to launch its services in five more circles this year, says Allan Bonke, executive vice president, Delhi Hub, Uninor

As a new entrant , what is going to be your focus area this year?

Uninor might be a new entrant in India but as a company we have a lot of hands-on experience from around the world. The company is a joint venture between Telenor of Norway and Unitech Wireless in India. We have operations in fourteen countries. Our vision is very clear. We are here to keep our promise and deliver the best possible services. I personally have great respect for India's diverse culture, and as a service provider we aim to reach the population at all levels.

In the first month of our operations we had 1.2 mn subscribers and at the end of February, 3.5 mn. The figures speak volumes about the way the company is fast catching up with the subscribers. Also, I will like to mention that we plan our business by voice calls since 90% of the market is still dependent on voice services. So voice calls and VAS services will be the segment on which we try to build.
