Uninor awarded for its Safety Management practices

GOA, INDIA: For the third year running, Uninor has been awarded the prestigious ‘Golden award for outstanding achievements in Safety Management' by Greentech Foundation. The award recognizes Uninor's best practices in the area of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE). Uninor remains the only telecom services company in India to have been selected to receive this prestigious award.

Uninor has received a number of recognitions - both in India and internationally in the area of occupational health and safety. It is also the only telecom company globally to hold the prestigious OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, PAS 99 and SA 8000 certifications

Uninor won this award after going through a comprehensive and independent assessment conducted by the Greentech Foundation to verify the efficiency, effectiveness and reliability of the company's occupational health, safety and environmental management systems. In addition to being the only telecom services company to receive this award, Uninor is also the first Service sector company in India to win this award three years in a row.

The award was presented by Bhaskar Chatterjee, director general of Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs at the 12th Annual Greentech Safety Award ceremony held at Goa.
