CIOL uks first official social media wedding

Whether it’s Snapchat, Twitter or Facebook, social media has proved to become the most influential part of our lives. And in such times, wedding cannot be an exception, especially for a couple from the UK who are paying thousands of pounds to have their wedding broadcast online, which also claims to be the UK's first "official" social media wedding.

Advertisment

Zoe Anastasi and Will Diggins' wedding day will be shared live on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Periscope, where a professional photographer will share the photos on all the platforms, even the wedding guests are also requested to share pictures. Though the couple is yet to confirm the amount paid for the social media wedding, such packages start from £6,500, approximately 63,000 rupees.

"It's worth spending thousands of pounds because you only get the chance to tell the amazing story of your wedding day once. You spend so much money on flowers, venue, food, drink. Social media is such a big part of our lives today so it deserves an investment, too," said Zoe Anastasi the bride, who works for a construction company.

Status Social, a Derby-based social media agency, which includes everyone from the director to coordinator, will display Twitter and Instagram page, on a media wall at the reception with photos of the couple with live video on Periscope. A private Facebook group also has been created for friends and family.

Mr. Diggins, the groom, a wealth management consultant said, "It's just got people excited; it's got people talking about it on the wedding Facebook group and sharing old photos and things like that."

"It's a day of pretending to be a celebrity; it's the closest you'll ever get to feeling famous, and who wouldn't like that?" he further concluded.
