MUMBAI: UGS solutions, a CAD/CAM solution provider, is planning to set up its first service center in Pune this month. The center will initially take care of company's US customers only but eventually start providing services to customers in other geographies also.
Hans-Kurt Lubberstedt, Executive Vice-President, Asia-Pacific, UGS said, “ The service center would help US customers in implementing and supporting UGS solutions.”
Initially the company plans to have around 24 people and will further expand this center when some more geographies would be added to its kitty. UGS currently has around 1700 customers in India and 10,000 licensed users of CAD/CAM and PLM.
UGS has also started focusing more on its Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions as most of the companies that are now CAD/CAM are slowly migrating to PLM.
At present though PLM contributes to 20 percent to company's revenue in India, worldwide both classical CAD/CAM and PLM contribute equally. The company expects at least 40 percent contribution from PLM in its revenues in India over the period of three years.
