Udupi duo wins Rural IT quiz

BANGALORE: The duo of Samarth Kudalkar and Darryl Lewis of Little Rock Indian School from Udupi have walked away with the TCS cash scholarship first prize of Rs 50,000 in the fifth edition of the Rural IT Quiz competition at BangaloreIT.com.

Sandesh S and Pradhan of PES PU College Mandya won the second prize of Rs 30,000 and Prajwal Shetti and Srikanth Kulkarni of PDJ PU College Bijapur bagged the third prize of Rs 20,000.

The event is being conducted for the fifth consecutive year by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in association with IT Department of the Government of Karnataka for IT.Com.

The quiz covered all the 27 districts of Karnataka and this year the event witnessed a record number of 61,000 students participating, clearly making it one of India’s biggest IT Quiz programs for rural students.

The program gathered momentum in October with top 50 teams from each district participating in the zonal level finals conducted across eight districts in Karnataka from 7th — 21st October. These zonal finals were conducted at Bijapur, Bagalkot, Belgaum, Udupi, Hassan, Davangere, Chitradurga and Kolar.
