BANGALORE: UbiNetics, provider of 3G technology solutions, has outlined new industry developments at the wireless technology seminar held in Bangalore by the UbiNetics Academy.

According to the company, commercial WCDMA 3G, the natural extension to GSM, is already growing rapidly in Europe and Asia with 100 million subscribers forecast in 2006. With the explosive growth in Indian GSM subscribers, WCDMA 3G will play a vital role in the country's drive for greater telecommunications access.

This seminar was one amongst a series of free public presentations, given by UbiNetics to encourage increased awareness of new developments in wireless technology, with particular relevance to 3G.

UbiNetics CTO Jon Burrell, the lead speaker at the seminar outlining the developments, said, "WCDMA, with its HSDPA enhancement, provides a truly "broadband" experience for wireless data that will significantly increase the demand for mobile data services. As the cost of 3G handset technology falls, multimode WCDMA/GSM will become the dominant technology platform worldwide. UbiNetics, through its development center in India, will play a leading role supplying solutions".
