The market for multi-service business gateways is expanding, as companies continue to consolidate communication over IP networks, said Norm Bogen, Director of Networking Research at In-Stat.U4EAs Fusion Series provides a highly integrated, robust and easy-to-manage multi-service access solution that enables service providers to conveniently and profitably provide managed data and hosted IP Telephony services to small-to-medium businesses and enterprises.

U4EAs multi-service business gateways (MSBGs) eliminate the need for separate router, firewall, NAT, ethernet switch, SIP session controller, and security products. The Fusion 200 series consists of small form-factor devices ideal for managed service delivery to small office users, while the 400 series is made up of enterprise-grade, rack-mountable devices suitable for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). All products deliver high-performance QoS, IP security (IPSec), and Firewall/Network Address Translation (FW/NAT) that ensure secure, wire-speed performance and reliable multi-service support for todays converged networks. The U4EA Fusion product line is supported by U4EAs patented quality of service technology, GoS (Guarantee of Service), which guarantees service quality for applications of multiple media types (voice, data, video, collaboration), all accessible through a single access link (or WAN pipe).

The Fusion 200 and Fusion 400 series of MSBGs delivers full support of all small office and SME unified communications needs, including voice, video and data, while supporting a variety of integrated (in the box) WAN connections. Options include Ethernet, DSL and T1/E1, as well as the use of external cable modems. The Fusion 210 and 410 provide a fully integrated ADSL WAN interface that lets small office and SME users take advantage of the high speed and low cost of ASDL compared to access methods such as T1 or leased lines. The Fusion 420 provides a fully integrated T1/E1 WAN. The 400 series MSBGs also provide an optional redundant power supply for enterprise-grade reliability in protecting the mission critical communications needs of businesses.

The Fusion Series was developed specifically for SIP-based next generation networks carrying multiple types of real time applications coexisting with data and other streaming IP media. These total one box solutions interoperate with multiple VoIP solutions (both IP-Centrex and IP-PBX) and multiple vendors IP Phones, enabling SMEs to select best-in-class components for their solution. U4EAs Fusion Series also supports VPN connections between multiple locations, allowing an IP-PBX at one site to serve multiple offices. SIP trunking support allows customers to connect to service providers over VoIP without the high capital and operational expense of ISDN or analog phone lines. Additionally, these products are future-proofed, enabling new integrated IP services and multimedia features to be easily added.

All Fusion products incorporate U4EAs revolutionary GoS technology, enabling SMEs to achieve high utilization of data bandwidth, while guaranteeing protected quality for critical real time traffic such as voice or video calls, streaming media, and higher priority data traffic, where up to 9 protected service classes are offered.
