NEW DELHI: As part of Tyco Electronics' already growing presence, M/A-COM, a business unit of Tyco Electronics and a manufacturer of Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave (MW) components and subsystems serving the telecommunication and aerospace and defense markets, is evaluating production partners and strategic plans in India.

M/A-COM aims to be a leading component supplier and solution provider to the growing wireless market in India. According to the company officials, the company's sales team would work closely with both domestic and multinational companies designing and manufacturing wireless solutions for the Indian sub-continent.

The company also plans to double its sales team to 20 very soon. The company currently has more than 100 customers in India and expects this number to grow by 30-40 percent this year.

In its bid to further cement its overall sales operations in the Indian region, Tyco is looking forward to adding channels as far as its Indian operations are concerned.

Tyco's decision to adopt a channel strategy is driven by the fact that the company has more than 100 customers in the Indian region and the recent spurt in the telecom segment has made sure that the demand for its products is on the higher side.
