NEW DELHI: Oracle University is offering a new curriculum on Oracle Database 10g that includes coursework designed to train users in less than half the time and at half the typical cost of previous offerings.

According to the press release, Oracle University's courses better enable database administrators (DBAs) to leverage the sophisticated, self-management capabilities of Oracle Database 10g to decrease time spent installing and managing the database, and in some instances, eliminate the need for manual intervention by DBAs for basic tasks.

The added functionality in Oracle Database 10g allows DBAs to increase their focus on strategic, information technology (IT) projects critical to their business goals. IT professionals can quickly get started with this 2-Day, DBA training program. Oracle's new curriculum includes an upgrade path, providing DBAs with the skills necessary to manage their evolving roles and responsibilities in the 10g environment. These training programs are tailored to the needs and scope of customer data centers.

In India, Oracle University recently conducted two one-day workshops on Oracle 10g Manageability and Oracle Database 10g: New Performance and Availability Features. 370 participants have already attended these seminars held in the six Oracle University Education Centers across the country.

"Given the overwhelming response to our one-day workshops, Oracle University had recently organized two-day seminars at Kolkata as an inaugural event for the new Oracle University Education Center at Kolkata," said director education of Oracle India Tapas Roy. "We are expecting more and more professionals to take advantage of such courses and workshops offered in the future," he added.
