"QUALCOMM is deeply rooted in the idea that knowledge enables success," said Kanwalinder Singh, president, QUALCOMM India and SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation). "We believe that by offering students opportunities to gain insight into CDMA and other advanced technologies, we will help create more industry-ready professionals who will drive the wireless revolution in India."

The workshop will cover a broad range of topics, such as trends in CDMA2000 technology; operating packet data services on CDMA2000; the MediaFLO system; and OFDMA-based mobile systems. The sessions, conducted by QUALCOMM instructors — Richard Dean, vice president of engineering; Nakul Duggal, director of engineering; and Nikhil Jain, chief technology advisor — will allow participants to ask questions and join in discussions that will enable them to better understand the latest technologies prevalent in the field.

In addition to the CDMA workshop, the Company is also engaged in a variety of academic initiatives with established institutions, such as the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai. Apart from academic workshops, the Company is actively exploring scholarship funding options and working to set up cutting-edge academic labs.
