Twitter is testing Professional Profiles along with other paid products

Twitter has officially announced that it is testing its new Professional Profiles feature with some US brands. The new feature will provide a way for brands to present themselves on the platform. It will have dedicated tools like product portfolio, location - very much similar to Facebook and Instagram business profiles.

The company explained the meaning of Professional Profiles in a tweet, "Professional Profiles are a new tool that will allow businesses, non-profits, publishers, and creators - anyone who uses Twitter for work - to display specific information about their business directly on their profile. We’re starting with a small pool of businesses in the US. Will give more accounts access to Professional Profiles in the coming months."

How are the Professional Profiles different from the Blue Verified Badge?

Quite different. The blue verified badge on Twitter lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic. A professional account on the other hand could facilitate a range of new opportunities for businesses. The new Professional profiles include will more information, including address and contact info, within the main profile frame, and an updated layout - different from a personal handle. It said the feature aims at businesses, non-profits, publishers, and creators. Further, the feature will allow creators to display specific information about their business directly on their profile.

Other paid products from Twitter

In the upcoming months, Twitter may launch a card type for eCommerce with a 'Shop' CTA button. This will help users to directly buy products on Twitter through a linked transaction page. Further, the social media giant has recently launched its Super Follow in beta test mode where creators can provide extra tweets in exchange for a fee from their followers.

Moreover, Twitter also plans to add a paid premium feature that will enable users to edit their tweet, remove ads and get some engagement benefits.
