Twitter down, GTalk starts talking

BANGALORE, INDIA: After downtime with Google Talk services its now difficulties with using popular micro blogging site Twitter.

Yes, Twitter is now facing downtime and millions across the globe are unable to Tweet.

Latest report on BBC states (IST 23:50 hrs) Twitter is down in UK and other parts of the globe on the eve on Olympics inauguration. The reports add that the Twitter services were down for almost an hour but the service are still   available via mobile and other applications.  

Twitter has admitted to the trouble and stated "Users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue," the Twitter team said on its 'status blog'.

Earlier on Thursday, Google Talk downtime had affected instant messaging service across the globe, starting early evening (4PM IST TIME)

The troubles with leading social networking sites have already gone viral on the Internet with affected users started voicing their anguish on social networking platforms. Google too had earlier issued a statement confirming the downtime. Google is also keeping the users informed through various social networking sites.

The Google statement has confirmed that majority of Google Talk users are affected.

The statement further read : "The affected users are able to access Google Talk, but are seeing error messages and/or other unexpected behavior. We will provide an update by 7/26/12 5:20 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change."

Earlier, Google had said "We're investigating reports of an issue with Google Talk. We will provide more information shortly."

Users around the world have been facing problems with Google Talk. At 5:20 PM IST, Google posted the following update:

We are continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 7/26/12 6:20 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem.
