Twitter appoints Parag Agrawal as its new CTO

Twitter has appointed Parag Agrawal as the new chief technology officer of the social networking company. Agrawal, a former alumni of IIT-Bombay will replace Adam Messinger, who left the company in late 2016.

The social networking platform updated the company's website and listed Parag Agrawal as the CTO. Agrawal has previously worked for companies such as Microsoft, AT&T Labs and Yahoo.

Agrawal who completed his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2011 and joined Twitter as an ads engineer. He also held the post of Distinguished Software Engineer.

Agrawal joined Twitter in October 2011 as an ads engineer, and he most recently held the title of Distinguished Software Engineer. He helped the company to increase the relevance of tweets in Twitter user's timeline using Artificial Intelligence(AI).

At Twitter, Agarwal will focus on bringing AI and machine learning for the company.
