Tuticorin Port boards on to L&T

MUMBAI, INDIA: L&T Infotech, a $ 11.7 billion engineering, manufacturing and financial services organization, has been selected to establish SAP ERP implementation of Integrated Port Information System at Tuticorin Port in Tamil Nadu, India.

As a press note shares, this system, together with all associated support systems, aims to improve the effectiveness of the technology deployment to cover all activities of the Port in an integrated fashion and support the systems.

L&T Infotech will implement and customize the application software for Port Operating System, SAP ERP, GIS-based Estate Management and will set up a Data Center along with campus-wide networking for Tuticorin Port and Cargo Handling Labor Pool (CHLP) premises. L&T Infotech will integrate the port’s operational, financial, real-estate and human resources systems along with the Integrated Port Information System. Once fully functional, it will provide a real-time interface with customs, port users, banks and the port community system of the Indian Ports Association, it adds.
