This will enable TTSL to leverage SAP’s pre-configured global best practices to address state-specific requirements across its 22 telecom circles, said a press release.

In the past seven years, TTSL claims to have built a subscriber base of over 37 million. The company is also the first service provider in India to introduce I-choose, an online retail store, that provides consumers with the ultimate in retail convenience, the release said.

TTSL will implement the SAP ECC 6.0 solution, which leverages the strength of the Netweaver platform, and is expected to harmonize data across operations, sales and finances and enable end to end management of products, assets, distribution and customer needs.

With other SAP solutions such as SAP Business Intelligence solution (SAP BI 7.0) and their human resource solution (SAP HCM) already in use, the implementation of SAP ECC 6.0 has provided the company a complete approach to deal with their growing needs better, said the release.

In a market driven by rapidly changing consumer behavior, TTSL’s key to remaining competitive was in choosing a robust application that is able to support its endeavor to provide attractive telecom tariffs and continually enhanced service delivery to its customers, stated the release, adding that it simultaneously needed to lower the costs while making strategic investments in its network and service offering.

“We required an integrated enterprise solution partner which is where SAP’s key strength lie,” said AG Rao, chief technology officer and president, Tata Teleservices Limited.

“Having worked with SAP in the past, we were confident that this implementation will enable us to integrate, reduce and maintain processes across the organization, and in turn not only improve our operational efficiency, but also support our vision to lead the Indian telecom space,” he added.
