LONDON, UK: Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC), the foundry chipmaker based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, has announced that it is planning to recruit over 3,000 employees to help it expand its manufacturing capacity.
According to media reports, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited will begin recruiting in January 2010. A majority of the recruits will be engineers.
At present, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company employs around 23,000 people. This means that the expansion will represent nearly 13 per cent of the current workforce.
Meanwhile, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company has announced that it achieved good sales in December 2009. The company said that it is planning to raise capital expenditure in 2010.
