NEW DELHI: Continuous Computing Corporation, global provider of Network Service-Ready Platforms that enable telecom equipment manufacturers to rapidly deploy converged communications, has announced a new product in the Trillium+plus line that will accelerate and simplify the development of SS7 nodes.

Trillium+plus MAP / TCAP (mobile application part, transaction capability application part) is a pre-integrated, high-performance signaling solution that enables telecom equipment manufacturers to focus their resources on their unique value add the application resulting in a quicker time to market and increased return on investment.

Trillium+plus MAP / TCAP facilitates rapid SS7 deployment of network elements in Next-Generation Network (NGN), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and 3G networks such as HSS (Home Subscriber Server), HLR / VLR (Home / Visiting Location Register), MSC (Mobile Switching Center), IN-SCP (Intelligent Network Service Control Points) and other wireless GPRS network components. The solution is easy to install and maintain and includes all features, functionality and country variants of SS7 network resources that can be managed by standard network management software.

"All customers developing SS7 nodes or with an installed base of SS7 nodes in their networks can benefit from this new Trillium+plus offering," said Garrett Choi, general manager of Continuous Computing's Trillium business unit. "The solution presents a substantial price/performance value proposition that accelerates time to market, reduces project risk and

complexity and enables our customers to deploy redundant, scalable SS7 functionality with confidence and ease."

Trillium+plus MAP / TCAP is the second offering in the new Trillium+plus integrated solutions product line, which launched in May. Continuous Computing now offers Trillium source code, Trillium binaries, AdvancedTCA and CompactPCI hardware systems, or any combination of these product lines.

Prior to Trillium+plus, Continuous Computing limited its protocol stack products to Trillium source code solutions, which required customers to write the management layer, integrate individual components and line cards and/or write applications to a low-level API. Now telecom equipment manufacturers have the option of a binary software model with an integrated

line card and full-fledged management layer, thereby freeing up resources for developing the application. As a result, customer time-to-market is significantly accelerated with Trillium+plus since the application need only be written to a higher-level API which is now provided as the de-facto interface.

Additional Trillium+plus MAP / TCAP product features include a high-performance line card in PMC / PCI form factors with a technology migration path toward AMC for AdvancedTCA; extensive Trillium support of country protocol variants; line card support from 1 to 128 links; an

application migration kit that enables easy application porting; and the availability of Trillium source code in escrow to mitigate risk.
