Travel industry goes IT savvy

MUMBAI: Kale Consultants Ltd. (Kale) has announced the completion of Cognosys acquisition and the formation of a new 'travel technology division'. According to the press release, this will enable Kale to provide focused technology-enabled business solutions to the travel industry by leveraging the existing domain and technology skills.







In a strategic move to capitalize on the IT needs of the Travel space, Kale had acquired Cognosys, a software solutions provider to the travel industry, in October 2003. "This process has now been completed with assimilation of skills of the two teams and the business knowledge that they brought to the association", said Kale Consultants Ltd CFO Sumeet Nadkar.







Speaking on the occasion, Kale group CEO & MD Vipul Jain said, "The travel technology division will provide a suite of e-travel products and customized software solutions to our customers, creating a synergy to our Airlines business. Rajnish Kapur, the CEO of Cognosys will now head this division."







Kale travel technology division will offer products such as - eBizTravel (an end-to-end e-procurement solution for business travel), eBookEngine (Internet booking engine), eFlightInfo (automatic real-time dissemination of operational flight information) and eFareEngine (fare data management). Currently, it will cater to leading travel organizations in Europe, USA and India such as TQ3, Lastminute.com, Cox & Kings, TCube, Secure-res and others.
