TransEd to introduce Pro@Ne

CHENNAI, September 8: TransEd, the training division of Chennai based

Tranformation Systems, will soon introduce Pro@Net, a course exclusively

for college students. A diploma in Internet and client server technology,

the 6-month program will be priced Rs 25,000. To accommodate the students,

the company is opening centers in Adyar and Anna Nagar within the next

three months. It also plans to open centers in Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The company plans to invest Rs 5 crore in these ventures.

The program is open for students who have completed or are pursuing

courses in engineering, MCA and BSc computer science. The students are

also offered a free membership for the TransEd privileged member club.

Some of the benefits include guidance in the college project, placement

facilities, free entrance to TransEd's seminars and workshops and access

to lab facilities of the training institute.

TransEd Assistant Vice President A Namburaj, "Pro@Net is an

extension of the currently offered e-commerce course. Students registering

in the Pro@Net courses will be exempted from paying the course fee for our

regular e-commerce course. It addresses the basics of the e-commerce

courses such as Oracle and Developer 2000, Java programming language and

web development."

The company currently offers e-commerce and datawarehousing courses.

Costing Rs 45,000 for five months, the course, has been received well in

the market with 192 candidates registered since April, when the course

commenced. These courses are more focussed on the working professionals

and engineering students. The new centers will offer these courses as

well. With the increasing demand for the courses, the company is

increasing its infrastructure on its current premises by adding two more

classrooms. It currently has four classrooms.

The company expects 500 certified professionals will pass out from its

institute by the end of the fiscal. With the new centers coming up, the

number is anticipated to touch 900. Out of this, 100 professionals topping

the courses, will be absorbed by its parent company, TranSys. It is also

pursuing an ISO 9001 certification. The turnover of the company is

targeted at Rs 2 to 2.5 crore for the current financial year.
