NEW DELHI, INDIA: Day 1 of the e-Revolution 2011 event ended with the award ceremony — Jewels of the Crown - where STPI acknowledged successful SMB entrepreneurs with awards and recognitions.

Till the year before 2010, these awards were given out to STPI members alone. But since last year, STPI has been honoring even non-STPI entrepreneurs in different categories such as CSR, Innovation and HR initiatives.

KK Sharma - Advisor to Administrator, Chandigarh Administration, was the chief guest of the occasion, while Vijoy K Singh — Secretary IT and Finance Chandigarh Administration, and Onkar Rai — Director General, STPI, Ministry of IT- Government of India, were the guest of honour.

Among the awardees were Suneel Khare, Packet Video India - best product of the year; Hemant Bhargav, Sharp Web Studio - innovative idea of the year; Kevin Singh, Nama Solutions — youngest entrepreneur of the year; Rasneet Kaur, BA data Solutions — yomen Entreprenuer of the year; Munish Johar, Graycell Technologies — socially active unit; GD Gupta, Bursys Systems — the senior’s passion of IT; and Anuja Lath, Pugmark Design Studio — best HR practices.

Ajay P Srivastava, joint director, STPI-Mohali, concluded the session with a vote of thanks. He congratulated all the award winners for their efforts and for transforming the region into an entrepreneurial hub.
