This partnership will help Torrent Pharma gear up for the next level of growth. As part of the engagement, IBM will also help Torrent comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), through use of Parallel Ledger functionality in New General Ledger (New GL).

IBM will enhance the Disaster Recovery (DR) processes at Torrent Pharma to ensure a near-zero data loss model. In addition, the engagement will help Torrent upgrade their hardware infrastructure, in order to address the higher power usage that Torrent would need for running the new version of SAP (ECC 6.0).

On the announcement, a spokesperson for Torrent Pharma said: “Torrent is in a phase of rapid growth and we were looking for a partner with strong industry expertise, from both the knowledge and experience point of views. IBM meets our requirements and we are happy to appoint them as our consulting partner for upgrading our IT infrastructure”.  He further added that IBM was chosen after Request for Proposals (RFP) were invited and evaluated from many SAP implementers in the country.
