Toonz gets European varsity affiliation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, INDIA: City-based Toonz Academy, 3D and 2D animation training facility, has signed up an affiliation with the European Carolus Magnus (ECM) University, Brussels for its various animation training courses.

ECM University has been founded and sponsored by the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry (EEIG).

According to this partnership, the ECM University through diploma and degree certificates will recognize the 3D and 2D animation courses provided by the Academy.

These certificates fulfill the requirements of a European Vocational Qualification and career development, and are beneficial to both economy and profession.

Talking on the new development, P Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz Animation, said that Toonz Academy has come out with flying colors through the strict evaluation process of the EEIG. “This definitely would propel the academy as a world-class animation training institute and would help churn professionals for the global animation market.”

“We are committed towards encouraging quality education in any part of the world, and we are happy to be associated with a prestigious institute run by a world famous animation studio,” said Anita Singh, president, EEIG in India.

“This is one of many expansion plans that we have in mind, centers in cities like Ahmedabad, Indore, Chennai and Bangalore will launch shortly. Through this affiliation we aim to take animation training to new levels,” said Ramaprasad, executive director, Toonz Academy.

Toonz Academy was established in the year 2002 as an in-house training department of Toonz Animation India. It is a fully owned subsidiary of Toonz Entertainment Pte Ltd Singapore, which also owns the flagship Indian animation studio Toonz Animation India Pvt Ltd.
