THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In an effort aimed at fostering closer collaboration on academic and educational spheres, the Toonz Animation-backed Toonz Academy has entered into an agreement with Singapore-based ERC Institute.
According to Hari Iyer, Director, Toonz Group, “All our courses currently cater predominantly to animation mainly indented for the entertainment sector. Gaming is a fast emerging area that is forecasted to grow tenfold and reach a billion dollar industry by 2012. This is one reason for us to collaborate with ERC Institute to offer our students BSc program with specialization in Gaming sector.”
The agreement would allow students at Toonz Academy to get full academic credit to enroll themselves for the University of Greenwich's Degree Program (BSc in Games and Entertainment Technologies). Students can complete their degree program within one and half years in Singapore, a Toonz Academy official added.
Speaking on the deal, Ken Kang of ERC Institute said the collaboration has potential to make best educational opportunities more readily available to students in India.
“From the experience of collaboration so far, ERC can identify many areas of benefits at all stages in this academic collaboration. We are happy to be associated with a prestigious institute run by a world famous animation studio,” he said.
ERC Institute is also offering a unique Guaranteed Job Placement Scheme, attractive scholarships and Angel Funding up to S$100000 for their international students.
