BANGALORE: Tata Internet Services Ltd
its corporate services and products across the country. The Tata Internet
network is now present across 32 cities in India. This network will enable
corporate clients to avail of value-added services such as Virtual Private
Network (VPN), Hosting and Co-Location, Disaster Recovery Solutions, Dedicated
Internet Access and ISDN connections.
TISL launched its services in the five metros — Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai,
Bangalore and Hyderabad earlier this year.
TISL is leveraging the telecom initiatives of various Tata group companies
such as Tata Teleservices, Tata Power, Birla AT&T Tata — BPL, Tata
Finance, TCS, Telco and Tisco to help expand the service offerings to a greater
geographical coverage.
According to TISL officials, a secure and robust Tata Internet network would
enable its clients to fulfill their connectivity needs at substantially lower
cost of ownership.
Tata Internet also offers liaising services with telecom service providers
for upkeep and maintenance of last mile links. The network has ample redundancy
built in at every level.
Companies availing of VPN services would have the advantage of services such
as Data Security, with special tunneling protocol and encryption that verifies
and authenticates the user’s identity.
Other TISL services such as Data Centres and Co-location facilities could be
optimally utilized now. Data Recovery and back up, fire detection, precision air
conditioning, centralized management of network on a 24x7 basis, managed
services would also be accessible to companies and corporates across key cities.
TISL has invested in scalable hardware from Cisco, 3Com and IBM and have thus
set up one of the country’s most advanced data networks with independent and
redundant domestic and international connectivity, and world-class support
services.
The TISL network spans New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore,
Hyderabad, Pune, Vishakhapatnam, Guntur, Vijayawada, Goa, Aurangabad, Rajkot,
