TiE Delhi announces Entrepreneurial Awards

NEW DELHI: The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Delhi-NCR Chapter has announced the TiE-Lumis Partners Excellence Awards to honour the spirit of entrepreneurship.

The TiE-Lumis Partners Excellence Awards, now in its third year, will recognize the innovative work and passion of the entrepreneurs who braved many odds to make a mark for themselves, said a press release.

“TiE will identify outstanding efforts of three young Indians who have put their blood, sweat and equity to nurture an idea, and set up successful ventures,” says Geetika Dayal, executive director, TiE Delhi- NCR.

She added that the special young men and women so recognized will provide inspiration to tens of thousands of Indians waiting to turn entrepreneurs

Referring to TiE’s aspiration to double the number of entrepreneurs in the country, Dayal said that TiE members will share their inspirational stories, wealth of knowledge and unmatched experience to kickstart this process.

“We are happy to jointly promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and honour the effort behind each successful venture,” says Sandeep Sinha, managing partner, Lumis Partners.

The two layered evaluation process will be done by a jury of senior TiE members. The jury will judge the entries on the basis of the applicants’ understanding of the market vis-à-vis product placement, differentiators, value proposition and social impact. The eventual three winners will be honoured on December 22, 2010.

The annual summit will offer attendees an opportunity to learn about entrepreneurial opportunities in booming industries like Education and Training, Clean Technology, Internet, Retail, Telecom and social sectors among others, the release added.
