NEW DELHI: TIBCO Software Inc., an independent business integration software company, has announced expansion plans for its India operations. TIBCO India is planning to scale up its operations to 150 people by the fiscal year ending November 30, 2005 with majority of the additions being concentrated in product development.

This Bangalore headquartered company also has a development center focused on end-to-end engineering located in Pune. The center, set up in September 2004, is spread over 18,000 sq. ft with plans to increase this to 35,000 sq. ft. The center follows a Remote Collaboration Model ensuring exposure to developers covering the entire cycle of product development.

"We will grow the Pune center to aggressively cater to TIBCO's global requirements. The center will be a key driver in TIBCO's expansion and in developing future products. India is expected to emerge as one of the fastest growing markets in the near future and TIBCO is building the foundation to capitalize on emerging opportunities," said TIBCO Software Inc. worldwide marketing senior VP Ram Menon

TIBCO India has over 15 clients in verticals like BFSI, telecom and discrete manufacturing. Customers include HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Tata Teleservices. The company plans to add 10 more customers this year. The company is currently present in Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai and is planning to open its marketing office in Delhi in the next one month.

Speaking on opportunities in India, Menon added, "Like organizations worldwide, most businesses in India have developed their IT infrastructure in an ad hoc manner, creating complex environments. But now these companies have sensed the need for integration and are moving towards being a real time business. The current state of the market opens up tremendous opportunities, enabling us to leverage our expertise and experience in delivering the right business integration solutions."
