SAN JOSE, USA: Arteris Inc., a leading Network-on-Chip (NoC) solutions provider, announced that Texas Instruments (TI) has selected its Network-on-Chip IP solutions for use in the OMAP processor platform. Use of the Arteris IP simplifies the communications process on chip to enhance the performance of customers’ complex designs.

The Arteris NoC solution was selected for its ability to effectively manage the on-chip communication of large-scale SoC designs in 65- and 45-nanometer (nm) process geometries, and below.

This includes efficient top-level integration and management of multiple IP blocks in multiple IP communication protocols including OCP and AXI. The Arteris NoC Solution increases performance, reduces the number of global wires, provides scalable quality of service (QOS) and decreases power for large NoC instances.

“The implementation from Texas Instruments is the largest deployment of a commercial NoC solution to date,” said K. Charles Janac, President and CEO of Arteris. “The ability of our solution to ease the communication between multiple processors and multimedia engines delivers significant cost and performance benefits, all while using fewer gates and operating at lower power.”
