Thinksoft, BIM to offer course on SW testing

CHENNAI: Thinksoft Global Services, a domain focused independent software testing services company, has signed an MoU with Bharatidasan Institute of Management (BIM), a B-School in Tamil Nadu, to offer a course on 'Application Software Testing'.



Speaking to media, Thinksoft executive director Vanaja Arvind said, "Software testing is in the growing stage, but there exists a mismatch between demand and supply. And, as the business schools do not meet the industry requirements, particularly in the field of software testing, this forced Thinksoft to offer a course on application software testing along with BIM."



"Software testing is a growing segment within IT services industry and today, this segment is estimated to be around $ 100 billion, of which the application software testing services is around $ 25 billion market opportunity," she added.



BIM director M Shankaran said, "The software testing course would be part of the existing MBA curriculum and would be offered as an allied to second year students, who take up finance or systems as their major functional area."



"The students would be exposed to the best practices followed by the Thinksoft and handling testing projects, which would give them insight about the industry," he observed.
