The phone-concealing rug goes viral, and here's how!

When Jeya May Cruz, a Philippines-based Facebook user, posted a picture of her rug and asked her friends to find the phone, she wouldn't know what an eventful she is going to have. The picture with the perfect illusion went viral instantly, with over 17,000 users sharing it since July 2, and over 130,000 likes!

At first glance, the image may appear to be a table standing on a fairly standard rug, but take a closer look and you might see something else. "Let's play a game. Look for the cell phone," is how Cruz challenged people to solve the mystery, and drove some people crazy, trying to spot the phone with no real success, for hours.

The illusion is such that even if you do manage to spot the phone, you will have trouble pointing at it in the second look. The bafflement created by this phone optical illusion is the latest image that has united internet users with every second person talking about it on social media. In a follow-up Facebook post, Cruz wrote: “Thank you, everyone, I can’t believe this would become viral. I'm sorry if it made your eyes hurt and headache ... Thank you again!” And an exasperated user cried for dire help saying, "I really can't find it!"
