Los Alamos County as shared in a press release, is excited to implement AssetWorks FleetFocus which will allow us to improve our reporting capabilities, increase and track productivity, and track life-cycle maintenance costs. The County will benefit greatly by implementing FleetFocus and we have great confidence in AssetWorks’ commitment to customer service,” stated Marina Wells, Fleet Division Manager, County of Los Alamos, NM.

The County of Los Alamos Fleet Management Division is responsible for purchasing and maintenance of all county equipment, the county's Radio Communication system, maintaining the fueling system and providing fuel for Los Alamos County and Los Alamos Public Schools. Additionally, the Fleet Division maintains the fleet for Atomic City Transit buses and para-transit units which serve the towns of Los Alamos and White Rock with a downtown trolley and neighborhood routes.

The Fleet Division sought a solution that could improve their ability to support, maintain and manage its vehicle fleet and other related assets. With a new fleet maintenance facility coming on line this spring, the Fleet Division wanted enhanced tools to better maintain its fleet, including real-time labor capture, robust reporting capabilities and complete vehicle equipment life-cycle management in an easy to use application.

AssetWorks FleetFocus tracks all functions related to the maintenance of equipment, including repair and preventive maintenance (PM) work orders, operating expenses (e.g., fuel, oil, and licensing), and billing for equipment usage. FleetFocus also supports shop scheduling, replacement analysis, equipment and replacement planning, and full parts inventory functionality. FleetFocus can help reduce maintenance expenditures and inventory expenses, while simultaneously improving productivity, efficiency, and asset utilization.

The County chose a hosted solution whereby AssetWorks manages the servers, the database and software application at its hosting services center. A hosted solution helps to eliminate capital outlay and can leverage the experience of AssetWorks’ skilled database administrator and application staff. AssetWorks has offered an Application Service Provider (ASP) solution for over 12-years, and was the first to do so in the fleet software industry. AssetWorks provides hosted services for more than 40 of its over 450 fleet maintenance software customers, including the ICE/U.S. Border Patrol, the County of San Diego, Greyhound Bus and many other leading fleet operations in North America.
