Thapar University goes wireless with Ruckus

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Networking company Ruckus Wireless announced that Thapar University, an engineering and technology institution in North India, will deploy its Wi-Fi solutions.

The university has deployed over 100 ZoneFlex 2942 and 2741 indoor and outdoor access points, centrally-managed by Ruckus ZoneDirector wireless LAN controllers in its 250-acre Patiala campus in Punjab.

Thapar will also use 75 MediaFlex 2200 series wireless bridges to provide reliable wireless access in its residential buildings.

“We ran a series of trials with many renowned vendors, but found the Ruckus beamforming technology remarkable in its performance and reliability,” said Maninder Singh, Ph.D, associate professor, Computer Science and Engineering Department, Thapar University.
