NEW DELHI: Tenet Technologies, a Bangalore based company specializing in

communication technologies, has been chosen by NEC, a leading Japanese

conglomerate, for its dedicated technology center in India.

Through its 60-member strong center, Tenet Technologies will be assisting NEC in
its networking division. "We will be working on the design, development and

testing for our datacom products (switches, routers and gateways) not only for

our domestic but also the global market," NEC Corporation, IP Software

Technologies Division General Manager, Kimio Jono said. According to Jono, NEC

will be outsourcing core R&D projects to Tenet in communication

Technologies.

"The Japanese communications market is one of the most demanding in the
world and we need to have high-performance solutions for our products. That is

one reason why we have chosen Indian companies to work on core R&D for

us," Nobuyuk Sakai, Assistant General Manager (IP software technologies),

NEC Networks, pointed out.

"IP-based network technologies have evolved at a rapid pace over the last
few years. Today, IP protocol has become the glue that binds the entire set of

technologies, which are application-focused. Several equipment manufacturers

have recognised this and are racing to build platforms that can provide the

scalability and reliability demanded by various converging applications. This is

where we come in," Rajendra Misra, CEO, Tenet Technologies, added.
