What’s next? That question keeps popping up in the rapidly evolving
world of electronic communications. Now, for a mere $10.95 you can send an
e-mail message of up to 1,000 words to aliens who may be listening from
somewhere out there.
Bentspace.com is a newly formed company in Davis, California that
allows anyone to log onto its Web site (www.bentspace.com) and send an
e-mail message into outer space. Bentspace computers convert e-mail
messages into a mathematical data format alien cultures could decipher and
then uses special transmitters to send out the message into deep space.
"It is the ultimate expression of free speech. Now anyone with
access to the Internet, and a credit card, can send a message out into the
cosmos that will travel for all eternity," said Greg Snow who
co-founded Bentspace.com.
