NEW DELHI: TeliVoice, a voice messaging service, is now available in India.
TeliVoice enables recorded voice communication between Indian residents and
their family and friends in the United States. Local access is available in 10
cities: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ludhiana,
Mumbai, Pune and Vadodara. Surrounding areas to each of these cities have access
to TeliVoice using the economical "dial-95" service.
Members make a local telephone call from within the TeliVoice service area
and use TeliVoice to send voice messages to family and friends located all over
the globe. Even non-members can leave messages for any TeliVoice member, whether
located here or in the US. TeliVoice is not real-time calling, but a voice
messaging system that connects people via private mailboxes that they can then
access at any convenient time.
A free trial is offered to new TeliVoice members of 25 free voice messages
(or 30 days) with no obligation. Monthly subscription for TeliVoice is $5 per
month and billed in US dollars. More information and registration for the free
trial is available at www.telivoice.com.
TeliVoice erases the issue of time zones - members call to listen and send
messages at any time, and know that the recipients can pick up their personal
message whenever it's convenient for them.
Navin.com, an Indian ISP licensee that suspended operations in June 2001
after new regulatory requirements from the Government of India required an
additional business license, provides TeliVoice service in India. The
appropriate license has been obtained.
