The third phase of the network expansion includes a 16-channel, 10Gb/s DWDM backbone that will enable TelicPhil to deliver increased capacity for bandwidth-intensive voice, data and video services to business and residential users across the southern Philippines. ECI has been involved in all three phases of expansion, ECI said in a statement.

Aviel Tenenbaum, president of ECI Telecom's Asia Pacific Regional Business Unit, said, "This win not only strengthens our presence in Southeast Asia, but demonstrates the flexibility of our optical platform to assist in complex environments while connecting new regions to greater global communications.”

TelicPhil will deploy ECI's XDM Converged Multi-Service Provision Platform (MSPP) and All-Range ROADM for this network expansion. It chose the XDM as it enables expansion of the NDTN to a 160 Gb/s DWDM network and provides more services to users, ECI statement added.

Further, the XDM gives TelicPhil the ability to support multiple interfaces like SDH/SONET, Ethernet, PDH, DWDM and can easily add new services efficiently, while providing link resiliency.
