Among the highlights of the enhanced Telerik Premium Collection for .NET are the first commercial 3D Chart for Silverlight, taking data visualization to another dimension; a full-featured Silverlight Scheduler, combining Outlook-style convenience with slick interface and advanced editing capabilities; and Visual Style Builder, enabling easy, point-and-click customization of skins for Telerik’s RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX.

“Our Q2 release of the Telerik Premium Collection for .NET brings us another step closer to supporting the developer community in all aspects of the development lifecycle,” added Svetozar Georgiev, Telerik CEO.

“Many of our customers look to Telerik as a one-stop shop for Microsoft .NET development tools and components. We continually enhance and expand our portfolio to address developers’ new challenges and strengthen our unique position in the Microsoft .NET vendor community as a holistic provider of complete solutions,” added Georgiev.

Most of Telerik’s Silverlight components have identical Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) counterparts, so that developers can re-use skills and code between the two platforms. Both the Silverlight and WPF suites are derived from the same code base and share the same application programming interface (API).

Thanks to this innovative approach, Telerik makes building mirror web and desktop applications with identical user interfaces much easier. Seven new controls, derived from their Silverlight counterparts, are added to RadControls for WPF: Drag & Drop, ComboBox and Window, among them.

The ASP.NET AJAX suite further establishes its position as the industry’s leading and most comprehensive toolset by expanding with several new controls and productivity tools. The axis of the new release is the introduction of the Visual Style Builder, a web-based skin customization tool, which allows you to tweak or build new skins with point-and-clicks, without writing a single line of CSS code. RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX has been enhanced with four more controls and across-the-board performance optimizations.

With the new release, Telerik also continues its dedication to providing a line of desktop components that is at the same time visually aesthetic and superior in performance. The new WinForms volume features performance enhancements in the underlying framework, resulting in minimized memory footprint and efficient re-painting. RadControls for WinForms reveals also a new major version of RadDock, with an abundance of new features and excellent drawing performance.

With Q2 2009, Telerik’s enterprise-grade ORM, OpenAccess, offers full support for Views, which wraps up the database-supported features, stored Procedures, Views and Tables and, thus, becomes one of the few tools to offers such functionality. Another highlight of the new OpenAccess version is the support for SQL2000 and the enhanced Stored Procedures support for ORACLE, MSSQL 2000 and MySQL.

“Especially in this challenging business climate, enterprises feel tremendous competitive pressure to roll out increasingly rich, responsive and interactive Web applications,” commented Al Hilwa, program director for IDC's Application Development Software research.

“Consequently, developers need tools that abstract away the complexity of the rapidly changing .NET environment if they are to deliver applications on time and under budget,” added Hilwa.
