As a result of a growing demand, the company has also formed a dedicated

business unit and account team in the Americas to expand distribution for its

Bluetooth development-testing tool. Telelogic introduced the industry’s first

Bluetooth testing tool in November 2000 and was named the market leader for

embedded systems tools by the Venture Development Corporation in their 2000

industry report.

"Pre-qualification offers users a way to detect errors in the early

stages and helps ensure first time success in the Bluetooth qualification

process," said Johan Wilson, MD, Telelogic India. He added, "Moreover,

the organizations that use our complete advanced software development solution

offering along with our Bluetooth PreQual 2 as a part of an in-house testing

procedure can improve on quality and interoperability while avoiding

time-to-market delays and the additional cost of retesting."

In order to prove conformance to the Bluetooth standard, all Bluetooth

products must undergo the official Bluetooth qualification process before being

introduced to the market. The qualification consists of a number of tests

defined by the Bluetooth Qualification Program, some of which must be performed

at Bluetooth Qualification Test Facilities (BQTF) authorized by the Bluetooth

organization. Currently, there are no BQTFs capable of running these software

tests and therefore organizations seeking Bluetooth certification are

responsible for running these tests themselves. Telelogic’s Bluetooth PreQual

was designed as an execution platform that enables this kind of testing.

Bluetooth PreQual is an execution environment for Bluetooth test suites. In

addition to the PreQual execution platform, Telelogic offers a wide range of

ready-made, executable profile and protocol test suites written in TTCN (Tree

and Tabular Combined Notation), the official Bluetooth test script language.

Bluetooth PreQual executes both interoperability tests for profiles and

conformance tests for protocol layers above HCI (Host Controller Interface). The

product is completely modular with upgrade and add-on functionality available,

and comes with the ability to automatically generate the required testing

compliance folder in Microsoft® Word® format.
