Telegram to add voice calling to its services

Messaging app, Telegram, that takes pride in itself being the most secure messaging service is planning to add voice calling to its services.

In reply to a Telegram user’s tweet, CEO Pavel Durov confirmed that audio calls and custom themes will be coming to the popular messaging app soon.

However, Telegram is yet to confirm the launch date.

The four-year-old company also claims that it had developed “encrypted voice calling technology some time ago,” but never prioritised the technology. Durov’s latest announcement hints that the company is ready to launch the encrypted voice in its services.

Other messaging app platforms like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Slack, and WeChat have also added audio or video call capabilities since last November.
