Telegram to integrate blockchain payments by the end of October - TON

Recently we were talking about Facebook’s Libra blockchain backed payment system, but we never come across to a payment system integration by Telegram. In all these times focus was on Libra, and Telegram silently working on its Telegram Open Network or TON.

According to Decrypt, TON is upcoming Proof-of-Stake network that will be backed by blockchain. This will be integrated into Telegram’s 365 million users by the end of October. Telegram is done with half a million lines of code for TON and hundreds of pages of new documentation and a beta version, the report mentioned.

If Telegram has plans to integrate the payment into the app, it only a few weeks to go, and no one knows if they have already begun testing in beta. But if everything goes well and timely launch of the service, then Telegram will create history as it will be the largest blockchain launch ever.
