NEW DELHI: Tektronix has made new enhancements to its proven 3086 real-time spectrum analyzer. The optional enhancements allow the 3086 to be equipped for Code Domain Power and Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function (CCDF) measurements, a capability when combined with the real-time capture characteristics of the 3086 spectrum analyzer, gives designers of 2G, 2.5G, and 3G wireless equipment unique insights into their designs' behavior.

"For power control measurements, major mobile equipment manufacturers have been looking for a code domain measurement tool that captures many W-CDMA frames in one acquisition," said Mahendran, General Manager, Marketing, Tektronix (India) Limited. "The 3086 spectrum analyzer with Option 16 is the first solution to really meet that need."

While other instruments can measure code domain power, the high bandwidth, real-time acquisition, and deep capture memory of the Tektronix 3086 are a perfect match for many critical 3G measurement needs. The new feature lives up to Tektronix' commitment to enable the transition to 3G with timely measurement solutions. The 3086 can record 10 full frames (160 time slots, 100 ms) of information from one trigger event, giving the designer a wide "window" of viewable frames. Conventional spectrum analyzers require a hit-and-miss, frame-by-frame examination of the data.
