Tektronix Asia Symposium held in Bangalore

BANGALORE: Tektronix Inc. held its India round of Tektronix Asia Symposium 2007 this Wednesday. The symposium showcased some of Tektronix’s latest test solutions. Also on display at the event was Tektronix’s measurement and monitoring instruments. As part of the symposium, the company also organized seminars, live demonstrations and workshops.

Prior to Bangalore, the event was held in various venues in China, Taiwan, Malaysia and Korea.

Tektronix, headquartered in Portland (USA), provides test, measurement and monitoring products, solutions and services. Bangalore houses the company’s engineering center. In India, it also has sales offices in New Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

“Tektronix Asia Symposium is one of our most important initiatives to help designers, manufacturers and network operators gain valuable insights into the latest test solutions and technologies they need to develop innovations in the New Digital World,” said James Alderton, marketing director, Asia Pacific Region, Tektronix.

Addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the symposium, Shrinanth Kulkarni, South Asia sales director, Tektronix, said that the company largely caters to the communications industry, which, along with semiconductor and computing industries, contributes 60 percent.

Asia Pacific, said Kulkani, generates 19 percent business for the company. The bulk comes from Americas and EMEA, which provides 36 percent and 29 percent respectively.

“As data transfer continues to increase, the number of testing requirement has gone up. The next step is going to be automating testing,’’ said Christopher J. Loberg, senior marketing manager – Instrument Business, Tektronix.
