The details of acquisition, however, were not disclosed.  SyntheSys Research basically develops and produces high-speed signal integrity test and measurement instrumentation.

Brian Reich, General Manager of Performance Oscilloscopes for Tektronix said that "The acquirement of SyntheSys Research brings to Tektronix a powerful team that has delivered important originality

with the BertScope,".

The company SyntheSys Research was established in the year 1989 having engineering roots in signal integrity research. It has pioneered ground-breaking bit error analysis techniques. It has also developed scopes for measuring Bit Error Rates.

For any kind of digital communications link, the final measure of its physical layer performance is whether the bits sent are acknowledged appropriately.

SyntheSys Research's dual-sampler Bit Error Rate Test (BERT)

architecture deals with this performance by integrating eye diagram, eye mask, jitter, Q-factor, BER, and other physical layer measurements into a solitary instrument.

SyntheSys Research is focused on the computer, storage, enterprise, and telecommunications marketplace segments where quicker clock speeds and latest architectures are requiring ever superior efficiencies at ever advanced bandwidths.

SyntheSys Research has a client base including developers at AMCC, Ciena, Fujitsu, HP, Hitachi, IBM, IDT, Infineon, Intel, LSI, Lucent, Marvel, Maxtor, Samsung, and Seagate.
