Tektronics backs Philips for HDMI solutions

BANGALORE, INDIA: Tektronix, Inc., a provider in test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced on Thursday that the new Philips High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Authorized Testing Center (ATC) in Bangalore has adopted the Tektronix HDMI V1.3b1 Compliance Test Solution (CTS).

The adoption is expected to reinforce the Tektronix leadership for HDMI test solutions.

HDMI is a high-speed serial data interface between any audio/video source, set-top box, DVD player, next generation gaming console that works over a single cable.

"High quality test and measurement instruments and solutions are fundamental to ensure compliance with the HDMI test specification and ultimately the development of successful HDMI products," said Jelle Rieske, senior director, Consumer Lifestyle, Philips Innovation Campus, while attending a press conference.

He added that the adoption of the Tektronix HDMI 1.3b1 compliance test solution for the ATC would gives a comprehensive and up-to-date HDMI test environment that shortens the time-to-market of HDMI compliant products.

"We are very proud that the Philips HDMI ATC chose Tektronix HDMI 1.3b1 test solution to facilitate HDMI compliance testing services," said Shrinath Kulkarni, sales director, South Asia.
