Tejas to take part in Interop Event 2008

BENGALURU, INDIA: Tejas Networks, a provider in carrier grade optical product, announced its participation at the multi-vendor Interop Event 2008 organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2008 (CEWC), Berlin.

Tejas Networks is demonstrating end-to-end Carrier Ethernet Service delivery over a PBB-TE Aggregation Network, said a press release.

It would showcase new range of Carrier Ethernet products that it is expected to launch at CEWC.

The Interop Event is scheduled on September 23 to 25 2008 at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress at Berlin. The event involves 28 vendors and more than 100 devices and includes a number of critical test areas, including Multipoint Ethernet Services, Resiliency Mechanisms as well as Operations and Maintenance, Mobile Backhaul and Triple Play services were verified during the hot staging and are being showcased at CEWC, said the release.

“Tejas Networks demonstrated a logical Ethernet LAN network with a ring control protocol being standardized under ITU-T G.8032 (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching - ERPS). We measured sub-50 ms fail over and restoration for the demonstrated ERPS,” said Carsten Rossenhoevel, MD, EANTC.

Dr Kumar Sivarajan, CTO, Tejas Networks said, “We are extremely happy to be part of the Interop 2008. The testing effectively demonstrates our ability to provide Ethernet Services using latest Ethernet standards that can interoperate with existing core network architectures.”

He also announced the commercial availability of the industry's first implementation of ITU-T G.8032 on TJ2000 Carrier Ethernet Platform.
